Playa Dominical has a restaurant (Tortilla Flats) right next to the beach, which makes it a great place to enjoy a beautiful sunset while having a drink or fruit smoothie.

Playa Dominical is also the only beach south of Manuel Antonio that has lifeguards on duty to provide a safe swimming environment (Dominical Lifeguards). Only strong swimmers should venture into the water at Playa Dominical as the riptides are very strong (which generates the large waves the surfers love).

There are several surfing schools available at the beach. For as little as $20, you will receive a surf lesson and go out on the water with an experienced surfer.

There are several surfing supply shops in Dominical. If you would like to purchase a great surf board or simply pick up new swimwear be sure to drop by one of them.

Getting to Dominical is very easy. It is located just south of the Rio Baru bridge on the Costanera Highway. Simply turn right (west) into Dominical and follow main street to the left, take your first right, and the road ends at the beach.
