Local Costa Rica Videos

Below is a link to some great Costa Rica Videos. Most of these videos have been filmed by us, right here, at Las Villas de San Buenas. We will continue to add more videos in the near future. We have a lot of raw footage we are editing in order to provide more great videos depicting life in Costa Rica, the beaches, the jungles, the people from the Osa region of Costa Rica and Las Villas de San Buenas.

In 2017 we hosted the inaugural Writers’ Retreat of San Buenas. Here’s a brief video recap.

Writers’ Retreat of San Buenas

Drone Video of Las Villas de San Buenas and the surrounding area

Are you interested in renting one of our beautiful homes for your Costa Rica vacation? We have several options available, each with their own unique style. Below is short (2 1/2 minute) video of Casa Cusinga. NOTE: A cusinga is a type of toucan.

Ever wonder what it’s like to visit Costa Rica with your family and young kids? Here’s a video of our CEO with his family during a Costa Rica trip from June 2014. Disfrute (enjoy)!

Costa Rica Guanabana Fruit

Guanabana is available throughout the region and is a great tree to plant on your lot here in Las Villas de San Buenas. Many people believe that it is one of the most effective cancer fighters in the world.

When you live here (or visit), you are always a short car ride away from this incredible waterfall that has a huge boulder lodged in the stream providing an amazing visual. This video was shot using Google Glass and is only 10 seconds long, but you’ll want to spend a lot longer than that in the calm, crisp waters!

Ever wonder where all the chocolate of the world comes from? Regardless if it’s dark chocolate, Hershey’s chocolate or Nestle, all chocolate comes from the cacao fruit. The video below shows you what one looks like on the outside and the inside. Few people know that the fruit of chocolate is so sweet and tasty (the chocolate comes from the seeds). There is a small grove of cacao trees in Las Villas de San Buenas that can be seen on the hike to the waterfall.

There are numerous farmers markets throughout the area, and the largest is located in San Isidro del General. Below is a brief video from the market where you could buy organic cake. Que rico!!

Below is a video about our three bedroom/four bathroom Casa Lapa that we rent out throughout the year. Check for availability and details here.

Green poison dart frogs can be seen, if you know where to look (and our on-site guides do!), in our beautiful 15-acre nature preserve.

Enjoy the sights and sounds of lapas (scarlet macaws) flying in here in Las Villas de San Buenas.

A short video of a papaya tree growing here. We have planted over 100 papaya trees throughout the property. There are hundreds of fruit trees growing throughout Las Villas de San Buenas. For example the following trees have all been seen here:  banana and platinos (several different species of each), papaya, guanabana, lime, mamones chinos, and many more.

Highlights from a Costa Rica vacation (November 2012)

A quebrada, or creek, runs through Las Villas de San Buenas. We have a limited number of lots that are adjacent to the quebrada, however, most of the lots near to it can enjoy the sounds most of the year.

Natural remedies and sustainability are important here at Las Villas de San Buenas. Here one of our workers teaches us what type of plant to look for to help treat kidney problems. Fran (the person explaining the plant in the video) grew up in San Buenaventura, where Las Villas de San Buenas is located, and used to use those medicines before the nearby hospital was built.

Mamones Chinos fruit trees provide some of the best tasting fruit in all of Costa Rica (read more about what a mamon chino is here). Below is a video that we happily recorded in mid-June 2014 expressing our pleasure in finding the first ripe fruit of 2014.

Here’s a nice video put together by a nearby touring company (let us know if you’d like to have us contact them for you) of some of the tours available.
