Honu Kai is Hawaiian for ‘green sea turtle’ – one of nature’s most beautiful and graceful animals, and also a symbol for good luck. The inspiration of the name comes from the amazing wildlife and beautiful ocean that surrounds this home, coupled with the sea turtles that are rescued every year at the nearby aquatic National Parks.
Casa Honu Kai is a three bedroom home nestled on a multi-acre jungle property. Guests will love the wildlife that is seen and heard daily (including howler monkeys, toucans, iguanas, geckos).
The main floor of the home has a large and modern kitchen, living room and two bedrooms. Bedroom #1 is air conditioned and has a queen bed. Bedroom #2 has a bunk bed with a Queen bed on the bottom and single on top, which is great for kids or parents with kids.
Bedroom #3 is located upstairs. This beautiful and spacious suite encompasses the entire second floor. This Suite has its own private bathroom, king size bed, private patio/balcony overlooking the pool and sunset Pacific Ocean views. A perfect place for adults to enjoy some private time.
The open floor plan of the kitchen-living room space flows easily out to the covered patio space, overlooking the pool. This provides a great space all year, whether in the rainy season or in the dry season, to enjoy your morning coffee while listening to the howler monkeys, toucans and scarlet macaws and views of the pool and the ocean.
The pool space also has a ‘rancho’ – an outdoor covered cooking area with grill and counter space, outdoor shower and half-bathroom.
If you are not out on an excursion, tour or at the beach, most of the time will probably be spent by the pool-patio-rancho area.

The location was beautiful and the house well supplied and comfortable. We did have a 4 x 4 car which was needed with the steep, rough road. There are sharp drop offs on both sides of the house so I would not bring small children here but it was a very peaceful, beautiful retreat.

fantastic location, the driveway is a bit steep but with a 4×4 there will be no issues. the house is very private and has wonderful views of the ocean, monkeys swinging through the trees all around you and lots of beautiful trees and flowers making for a relaxing atmosphere. The house is in a great location offering privacy and convenience – there is a market at the bottom of the hill and lots of places to eat very close.

It’s super natural, has an ocean view & a pool & yoga mat!!😁 We saw dart frogs almost everyday during our week stay 🙂 frogs, tucans, humming birds, monkeys, a huge lizard & big time to my surprise, an oropendola!😃 me encantaaaaa!
