We stayed during rainy (green) season and you definitely need a 4x4 but well worth the drive up. The house was very clean and comfortable and in a great location, and the view was amazing. Loved hearing howler monkeys every morning and toucans throughout the day. We also experienced a 5.9 magnitude earthquake at night and the next morning we noticed that some of the power was out within the house. I’m assuming due to the earthquake. However a really nice feature with the house is that it has solar power so most of the electrical features worked. When we noticed the electrical issues we contacted the host and maintenance was there within the hour. Overall we had a very lovely stay and would definitely stay again.

Si buscas cambiar de aire y explorar una zona diferente este hospedaje es perfecto, como también es el lugar idóneo para quedarte en casa y relajarte.
Una casa preciosa ubicada en las montañas con vista al mar, mucha calma y excesiva privacidad. Las amenidades están perfectas y muy bien pensadas.
Tuvimos una situación con el gas que fue resuelta rápidamente y que apreciamos mucho.
Deseamos hacer early check-in o late check-out pero no se pudo debido a que estaba todo reservado el día antes y el día después de nuestra salida, pero la comunicación al respecto fue rápida y oportuna.
La calle no está en tan malas condiciones, se recomienda un 4x4 pero creo que incluso un SUV normal puede acceder.
En fin, recomiendo el lugar en definitiva para quien guste desconectarse unos días. Fantástica opción.

Perfect Getaway!
This house was perfect for our family of 5. We stayed a full month and enjoyed the location and peacefully days and evenings listening to the cicadas and howler monkeys. The view with no homes in front of you is unbeatable and the 10 minute scenic drive to town was easy and nice to have when we didnt feel like driving to Uvita. Thanks for a great stay! We stayed at this home for 2 weeks with the family, 4 kids age 6-15. The house was better than expected from the pictures on the ad, very clean, the service was excellent. 100% would recommend and certainly hope to come back one day.

Stay was great and villa was clean, inviting and well situated. Beautiful sunset views. Only issue to raise was with the gated security access which hopefully can be resolved for future guests by the estate management team… Despite this issue I would go back and recommend this villa without hesitation.

The place was amazing and the host extremely helpful. The one thing you need to be clear about though is that the house is far up in the mountain. You truly need a 4x4 or at least an SUV and the road can be stiff and tricky to drive through. From the main entrance in Ojochal it takes about 10 minutes to get to the house. Once at the house, it truly feel like home, plenty of amenities and beautiful rooms and surroundings.
The pool is a bit deep for the average person!

Our family stayed for a month and loved it! The house is really well equipped with everything you could possibly need. The pool was perfect for our 8 and 10 year old...they took their first swim around 6am and last swim around 8pm every night! Also, Christine and Tom (the property managers) are absolutely outstanding. This is a great home, I highly recommend it!

Midst of nature
It’s a beautiful house in the quaint town of Ojochal!!! The house itself is well equipped for a family to move-in with their luggage to have a home away from home!! The hosts Tom and Christine are the best that comes in this industry. Even though we reached a little beyond the specified timing of 8pm they greeted us personally and extended the same courtesy when we had a few bumps before settling in for the 4 weeks. We will do the same property again in future when better and safer times prevail. The town itself has a quite a few selection of restaurants that cater to the varied tourists but since this was a working holiday we had no plans of going out of the property unless it was necessary other than the grocery. The concern for the ecosystem and the measures taken to protect the environment are commendable. Thanks again for making our stay safe and memorable during these testing times.

Beautiful house with exceptional views. Kitchen well equipped for all our needs. Even had beach towels and beach chairs which came in very handy as well as a secured lock room to secure all our belongings. House was very clean and beds were very comfortable.
The only issue we faced was late arrival. Jaguar Management clearly states not to arrive after 8pm and unforrunately we did. We travelled early morming from Canada and arrived at San Jose by 1:30pm. After clearing customs (1hour), picking up rental car (1hour), getting out of San Jose (45 min) and driving for 3.5+ hours and stopping for a quick bite to eat, we didnt make it by 8pm. Jaguar sent us some pictues of where to turn, plus we had their directions but still couldn't find the house after hours of driving around in the dark. We gave up at 1:30am and drove back to Uvita to find another place to sleep for the night. Luckily, we met someone who had a friend that owned a hostel. By 2:30am we were finally settled in for the night. A long day indeed. We were shown the way to the house the next morning.
Word of caution, if you think you may arrive after 8pm then dont stay here your first night because its extremely hard to find by yourself in the dark.

We have dozens of tours for adventurers and those who just want to chill, tons of nature activities, pristine beaches and waterfalls, and have many excellent restaurants close by. Yes, we explain our meeting time policy in our Welcome Email (sent at the time of booking), and again in our Meeting Email (sent just prior to arrival). Your flight arrived at 1:30pm. Most guests arrive 5.5 -6 hours later after customs, getting the rental car, stopping to get a bite to eat and grocery shopping. That should have put you in our area around 7:30pm. At 9:45pm you messaged us to say “we're on our way” and assured us you could find the house because you had stayed in our area numerous time before. This was against our advice to please stay the night somewhere en route, so you could arrive safe and refreshed early the next morning. We drove to the house to turn on lights and fans for you, and sent you a photo of each of the five turn-offs leading to the house, with a GPS/Google Map/WhatsApp location of each turn off, and also at the home. Unfortunately we were asleep when you finally arrived in Ojochal at 11pm, as we had to meet a guest for check out very early the next day. We feel so badly that you got lost...we did everything possible to prevent this from happening. This is why we meet our guests in town, and always escort them to the property so they are not stressed out, or get lost as you did. We hope you return soon to see us again in Paradise. The only issue we faced was late arrival. Jaguar Management clearly states not to arrive after 8pm and unforrunately we did. We travelled early morming from Canada and arrived at San Jose by 1:30pm. After clearing customs (1hour), picking up rental car (1hour), getting out of San Jose (45 min) and driving for 3.5+ hours and stopping for a quick bite to eat, we didnt make it by 8pm. Jaguar sent us some pictues of where to turn, plus we had their directions but still couldn't find the house after hours of driving around in the dark. We gave up at 1:30am and drove back to Uvita to find another place to sleep for the night. Luckily, we met someone who had a friend that owned a hostel. By 2:30am we were finally settled in for the night. A long day indeed. We were shown the way to the house the next morning.

Beautiful place
Beautiful house with exceptional views. Kitchen well equipped for all our needs. Even had beach towels and beach chairs which came in very handy as well as a secured lock room to secure all our belongings. House was very clean and beds were very comfortable.

5 nights of beauty and tranquility
We had an awesome time! Tom and Christine were wonderful hosts from start to finish. They answered all the questions As we were planning our trip and Took care of any of our needs While we were there. The house was exactly as advertised. What a beautiful spot! Ojochal is within a short drive of great restaurants, tours and beaches. There are many stores where you can buy supplies to get you through the week. If you are coming From North America the costs for Food is about the same. Some have mentioned the drive up to Cass Sea esta as challenging. It is a bit bumpy and there are some steep hills but you get used to it pretty quickly and Tom guides you up the first time. We went up and down everyday at least twice and at nighttime with no issues. It takes about 15 minutes to get to the main highway from up the hill. Another thing to mention about driving. Driving around Costa Rica was a pleasure. You get to see the countryside and explore on your own. We never once felt unsafe. On a map the distance and seem far but if you are used to road trips in North America, most drives are pretty short. Our drive from SAN José to Ojochal took about 3 1/2 hours. We left around 7:30 am drove about 2 hours, stopped at Manuel Antonio for a tour and drove the rest of the way To Ojochal to arrive for check in around 4. The stop made the drive seem very short. If you come here you will have a great time!
