Not what we expected
The house itself was ok. There was only place to eat for 3 people which was a problem for us as a family of 4. But it was quite well equipped. It was more than a 5 minute walk to the beach but it was convenient to many places in Uvita.
Our biggest problem was with the property management company. They were absolutely unresponsive to problems we had and when/if they did respond it was to let us know that nobody else had problems so it must have been just us. The master bath has some plumbing issues – standing water, immensely slow shower drain and as a result there was a massive mosquito infestation in the master bath. We killed a minimum of 30-40 mosquitos in the bathroom on a daily basis. We reached out to property management to let them know and never heard back. If I could offer advice, find a different management company to use that may be actually respond to issues.

When you contacted us about how your son was bitten by a spider on tour, we immediately sent you the location of the nearest medical center in relation to where you were. In addition, we asked if there was anything else we could do to help. We told you, “Call us if you need help on translation” [hospital] and you responded, “Great.” Regarding the mosquito issue: You contacted us on Sunday, December 26, at 5:27 pm and we responded at 5:52 pm. That evening (the same day – within hours of being contacted by you) a Property Manager visited the property to ascertain the situation and to resolve it. After the property manager left, you never contacted us again for the remainder of your trip. The day before check-out, we sent you a message wishing you a “Hope you are enjoying your stay” and you never responded. We provided you with quick service, and we apologized for the situation you encountered.

Slice of heaven
The place was very quaint, many Great restaurants near buy, spent time in joying the ocean at two different locations. Beautiful, warm and enjoyable. The property pool could have been heated. But still was refreshing. Waking up to the birds and roosters was quit enjoyable. The tacos were very friendly, never felt threatened or scared. Some of the off roads adventure were very interesting… mush rent a 4 wheel drive Vehicle. Enjoy Ojochal..

Nuestra estadía estuvo marcada por varios inconvenientes relevantes. Desde la llegada reportamos un problema con el desagüe del fregadero que nunca fue solucionado, a pesar de múltiples mensajes. La comunicación con la administración fue deficiente y sin respuestas claras.
La piscina presentó problemas de mantenimiento durante la estadía. Además, el alojamiento es más pequeño de lo que aparenta en las fotos, lo cual genera expectativas equivocadas. la lavadora no funcionaba, poco presión de agua. Adicionalmente, hay una iglesia evangélica prácticamente al lado, y por las noches el ruido se escucha con bastante intensidad, afectando el descanso.
El lugar tiene potencial, pero la falta de mantenimiento oportuno y de atención adecuada hicieron que la experiencia no fuera la esperada.

Bonita opción para compartir en familia o amigos.
Lo mejor: la ubicación (cerca de accesos a playas, restaurantes en Ojochal y Uvita. Habitaciónes muy cómodas, bien equipadas y buena calidad de sueño (colchones, sábanas, AC). Cocina bien equipada y terrazas amplias. Sitio muy tranquilo y rodeado de naturaleza.
Por mejorar: algunos pequeños detalles de mantenimiento, pero en general muy correcto.

Exceptional Concierge Service
Nick has put together a wonderful team in beautiful Costa Rica. This was our first trip to the country and our family had a wonderful time because of OPM. The staff are very available and they really leverage WhatsApp to stay in touch conveniently and unobtrusively. Check-in and Check-out were a breeze. The house, Casa Big Sky, was on a cul-de-sac with other new construction homes, some owner occupied and some rented out. A wonderful Mexican restaurant and bar is about 300 meters away but you wouldn’t know it when you are hanging out on the back patio or lounging by your private pool! The house is wonderfully appointed and you can fill the fridge and cook for yourself, or hire an in-home chef service. Wifi at the house was always reliable. We loved the house and it’s convenient location in Uvita. Grocery stores, restaurants, and the National Park are all very convenient. The Osa team really came through with easy reservations for snorkeling, zip lining, a gorgeous waterfall day trip, and my favorite, the pre-Columbian chocolate plantation experience! We really got the Pure Vida experience at Casa Big Sky and Osa Property Management. Thanks Nick!
